Differences between marine flanges

In recent years, we have cooperated with many marine engineering companies, and the sales volume of marine flanges is increasing day by day. Today, let's introduce the main categories of marine flanges we produce and their differences to the stainless steel flange buyers. The types of marine flanges mainly include welded neck, long welded neck, lap joint, rib and blind flange, sliding sleeve, socket welding. In addition to these standard flanges, there are also some non-standard marine flanges, torsion flanges, Expansion reducer flange and hole flange. What is the difference between long neck flanges? The long neck flange is similar to the neck flange, but the neck tapered hub extends and acts as a hole extension. Long welded neck flanges are commonly used for vessels, columns, or drums, and these flange types can also be used for heavy drums and the same drum type. What about sliding flanges in marine flanges? The sliding marine flange is connected to the pipe or fitting by two fillet welds, one for the inside and the other for the outside of the flange cavity. The hole size of the sliding flange is larger than the outer diameter of the connecting pipe, because the pipe needs to slide in the marine flange before it can be connected by fillet welding. Sliding marine flanges are also defined as "hub flanges". Because of its thin and compact shape, it is easy to identify. In the long run, the sliding flange forms a flange connection, which is more fragile than the welded flange connection under the same conditions. Welded marine flanges have a tapered wheel, not in sleeve welded flanges. Moreover, the distribution of mechanical stress welded joints between pipe flanges is more uniform, and only one welding area is required instead of two socket welding flanges. Another advantage of welding neck marine flange is that it can connect pipes and fittings, while socket welding flange is only applicable to pipes.
