What is the main difference between both WN Flanges and SO Flanges
WN Flanges and SO Flanges are two common types of flanges. In our Haokun factory, these two flanges customers purchase a large number of orders, and the annual production capacity and production capacity of the factory also account for a large proportion. Pipeline components are also very common in the construction process, but many people do not know the difference between the two types of flanges, which causes trouble for many construction workers. After all, WN Flanges and SO Flanges have different ranges of applications. An wrong operation during use may cause some problems with the project. So what are the specific differences between the welding flanges and welding flanges? Here's a specific introduction.1. Different weld types: SO Flanges weld cannot be radiographic, while welding flange can. The weld between the pipe and the flange of the SO Flanges is an angular weld. The weld between WN Flanges pipe and pipe is a ring weld.2. Different materials: SO Flanges is made of ordinary steel plate, and has the required thickness, and WN Flange is mainly made of forged steel parts.3. Nominal pressure is different: the nominal pressure of SO Flanges is 0.6-4.0 MPa. The nominal pressure for the welding flange is 1-25 MPa. Clearly the level of adaptive stress in SO Flanges is low.4. Different connection methods: The biggest structural difference between WN Flanges and SO Flanges is the different connection methods between pipes and flanges. SO Flanges is generally connected by the connecting tube, while WN Flanges is connected to the connecting pipe. Usually, the SO Flanges can only be connected by a pipe. It cannot be directly connected to the butt-welded pipe. WN Flange can directly connect all butt welded pipe fittings (including elbow, tee, diameter pipe, etc.), but also to the pipe. The rigidity of the opposite welding flange is higher than the flat welding flange, and the opposite weld strength is higher than the flat welding, which is not easy to leak. Flat welding flange does not substitute for butt welding flange. From a manufacturing perspective, the SO Flanges has a larger inner diameter. This means light weight and low cost. In addition, WN Flange with a nominal diameter greater than 250mm require testing, while flat welding flanges do not, and are therefore relatively inexpensive.
