The Difference Between Slip On Flanges And Weld Neck Flanges

The difference between Slip on Flanges and Weld Neck Flanges

Our customers often appear these two flange Slip on Flanges and Weld Neck Flanges when purchasing flange and they belong to different flange types, Slip on Flanges and Weld Neck Flanges have many differences, next we will elaborate.

Different weld forms: Slip on Flanges pipes and flanges are angular weld forms, while Weld Neck Flanges pipes and flanges are annular weld forms.

Different materials: Slip on Flanges material is made of ordinary steel plate machining whose thickness meets the requirements, while Weld Neck Flanges material is mostly made of forging steel parts machining.

Engineering pressure is different: Slip on Flanges engineering pressure is 0.6——4.0Mpa, while Weld Neck Flanges engineering pressure is 1 —— 25Mpa grade.

Welds between Slip on Flanges and receiver link are class B seam, while Weld Neck Flanges and receiver link seam are Class C seam, unlike nondestructive testing after welding.

Slip on Flanges and Weld Neck Flanges can not be replaced casually, so the manufacturing Slip on Flanges has large internal diameter, small weight and low cost, in addition, Weld Neck Flanges is relatively small internal diameter and large weight. The cost is significantly high, with a nominal diameter greater than 250MM requiring detection, while Slip on Flanges does not.

With neck flat welded flange (Slip on Flanges) full name flange with neck flat welded steel pipe flange, is the steel pipe, pipe fittings into the flange through the corner joint and equipment or pipe connection flange, with neck butt welding flange (Weld Neck Flanges) refers to a flange with cone neck and butt welding with cylinder or pipe, belongs to the integral flange.

After understanding the above differences between Slip on Flanges and Weld Neck Flanges, we can clearly understand the welding methods of the two flange in the future and the basic processing properties of the flange
